So for the last two weeks, I have been managing a photography studio while some
actors have been using the space to rehearse for a movie. Not particularly interesting for
me except for the fact that the main characters are played by Cameron Diaz & Ashton
Kutcher. I have to say that Cameron is very sweet in person and she seems to have a
great attitude about all the media attention she gets. The paparazzi followed her to our
studio and followed her when she left. It seemed pretty creepy to me.

And in more important news.... I will be travelling to Chicago in 2 weeks to photograph
one of my very best friends, Leilani Munter, as she races an Indy car at the Chicagoland
Speedway. I am so excited! She has been racing stock cars for about the last 5 or 6
years and just switched to Indy. Since I have been in Europe for the last 7 years, this will
be the first time I ever see one of her races in person. Leilani and I were college
roommates in San Diego, and she is one of the few people that I stayed friends with
while I was overseas. I am so proud of her! She has been such a huge inspiration and
support system for me. If you haven't yet heard of Leilani, you will. She will beat Danica
Patrick to become the first woman to ever win an open wheel race. Mark my words!
See that smile on her face? That's called living the dream....

I had the pleasure of seeing
the veils perform two nights in a row. mercury lounge and
union hall. Sometimes life is very good. Although I am trying to forget that one of those
nights, I fell asleep on the train and woke up in the middle of nowhere. I love this band.
You can go to
fabchannel and watch one of their shows live from Amsterdam's
Paradiso. Just do a search for the Veils on the site. I also photographed Finn, the singer,
last year in Amsterdam for a Dutch music magazine. He is the real deal.

I just got the most amazing email from a client who i made some portraits for last
week. When i sent the pics, he replied..... "they turned out fuckin perfect. You are really
talented Vic. All of my partners are blown away. I think we are going to work with you
from here on out, for our shit and for our artists. As far as i'm concerned, we've found our
photographer. I knew you were good, I didn't know you were this good." Thanks JB. You
made my day.
